If you have a Sony VCR you can set up your Receiver to control it. Your Receiver
will:

• Start your VCR automatically when you choose “Save to my VCR,” from the

! $% $ &&  screen (described on page 40).

• Pause your VCR if you pause the program.

• Stop your VCR automatically when the program is done.

The Receiver will not rewind your video tape.

1. After selecting VCR Control, the next screen checks whether you have a Sony

VCR. If you select “Set up my Sony VCR,” you will see the VCR Control
Checklist. Make sure you have complete each of the items on the checklist before
pressing SELECT. When you press SELECT, the VCR Code screen appears.

2. From this screen, you will select a VCR code. The Testing VCR screen will appear

and initiate a test of your VCR. If the test is unsuccesful, you can press RIGHT
arrow to return to the VCR Code screen and select a different code.

3. If the test is successful, a confirmation screen appears. Choose “Yes, done setting

up VCR control.”

This is where you can find the Receiver’s serial number, the manufacturer and model
number, the TiVo software version, information about recent service calls, and the
Receiver’s storage capacity. You’ll need some of this information if you call Customer
Care for support. You can use CHAN UP/DOWN to see all of the screen.
