Silent uninstall on Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating systems

The User Account Control (UAC) function on Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating systems is turned on by
default to prevent unauthorized changes to the computer. You need to disable the UAC function before
performing a silent uninstall.

To perform a silent uninstall of System Update from a Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating system,
do the following:

1. From the Start menu, open Control Panel, and double-click the User Accounts option.

2. Click Turn User Account Control on or off.

3. Click Continue in the Windows permission dialog box.

4. Deselect the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer option, and click OK.

5. Restart the computer.

6. Click Start, and type the following command line in the Start Search box:

MsiExec.exe /X{8675339C-128C-44DD-83BF-0A5D6ABD8297} /qn

7. Press Enter. System Update will be uninstalled.
