TICINO TOURING PEDAL CLIPLESS MECHANISM INSTRUCTIONS

IMPORTANT:
- The Quick Binding cleat is compatible with most standard SPD shoes
and pedals. This cleat offers the rider a full 4° of lateral float to relieve
knee stress.

- Before using this or any pedal system, be sure that all of the shoe
cleat hardware has been properly installed, tightened and that the
pedal retention adjustment has been set to your riding style. It is
very important that you are familiar with the proper operation of the
engagement and release mechanism of this pedal.

- If you are unsure about any of the installation instructions or how to
operate this pedal system, we strongly suggest that you contact your
local bicycle retailer for professional assistance.

- Keep the shoe cleat and pedal binding clear of dirt and debris which
could affect the proper function of this system.

- Required tools for installation and maintenance: Phillips screwdriver,
3mm & 4mm hex/Allen wrench and standard pliers.

QUICK BINDING HARDWARE:
Each pedal requires three Phillips head screws for the pedal/binding
assembly.

ADJUSTING RETENTION FORCE:
Located on the rear of each binding mechanism is a 3mm hex retention
adjustment bolt. When you turn this bolt
you adjust the force required to release your
shoe from the pedal. By turning this bolt in
a CLOCKWISE direction you INCREASE the
force needed to release from the pedal. By
turning this bolt in a COUNTER-CLOCKWISE direction you DECREASE
the force required, making it easier to release from the pedal system.

CLEAT/SHOE INSTALLATION:
- Carefully remove the protective rubber area covering the oval cleat
holes with pliers.

- Assemble two 4mm hex bolts into
the flat oval cleat washer and fit
the washer into the matching
indentation in the cleat. This
entire assembly sets into the oval
cleat holes on the outside of the shoe.

- Remove the footbed liner from the
inside of your shoe and insert the
threaded oval retention nut (with the
flat side facing the inside of the
shoe) into the two oval holes inside
the shoe and lightly tighten the
two bolts into the oval retention nut.

- Adjust the cleat to achieve your desired shoe/pedal position and
tighten the bolts securely.

TO ENGAGE:
To engage the shoe/cleat into the pedal, point the toe of your foot
slightly down and slide the cleat onto the center of the pedal. As soon
as you feel the front of the cleat catch the pedal clip, step down firmly
and you will hear a solid “CLICK ” which means the shoe/ cleat is firmly
engaged. You should be able to pull up firmly without your foot leaving
the pedal. If required, turn retention adjustment bolt counterclockwise
to decrease the force required to engage the pedal system.

TO RELEASE:
Twist your heel outward until the cleat disengages from the pedal.
If this is difficult, turn the retention adjustment bolt counterclockwise
to decrease the force required to disengage the pedal system.
