Biker Bar™ Installation Instructions

Fits most Harley−Davidson™ motorcycles.

MODELS

Without proper knowledge, towing can be a
dangerous activity. Understand all the risks
involved with towing before proceeding. For
information on towing safety, see "The Trailer
Handbook: A guide to Understanding Trailer and
Towing Safety"
from the National Association of
Trailer Manufacturers, www.NATM.com.

Read all installation and operating instructions along
with all labels before using this product.

Failure to comply with the safety information in these
instructions could result in serious injury or death.

WARNING

Measure clamping bar on bike. With the biker bar
base installed and the clamping bar installed on the
bike, ride the bike onto the trailer until the biker bar is
directly in front of the base, do not attempt to latch the
bike into the base at this time. While still sitting on the
bike, check the distance from the middle of the
clamping bar to the trailer floor with a tape measure,
see figure C1

1.

CAUTION: The Biker Bar can only be set for one
individual rider and bike. The Biker Bar should
only be used by the person and bike which were
used for the original installation. Always repeat
the steps in the "Adjust Biker Bar Base Height"
section of these instructions when changing rider
and/or bikes. Serious injury and/or property
damage may occur if the base is ridden into by a
bike or person which was not used to set up the
base height.

Adjust Biker Bar Base Height

Measure base height. Remove the bike from the
trailer. Remove the Clamping bar from the bike.
Place the Clamping bar back into the base. Measure
the distance from the middle of the clamping bar to the
floor of the trailer, see figure C2.

2.

Adjust base height. If the two distances taken from
the Clamping bar are within 1/4" of each other, then no
adjustment to the Biker Bar base is necessary.
However, if the distances are more than 1/4" apart the
base will need to be adjusted. Remove the two 3/8"
flange nuts from each side of the base. Adjust each
clamping mechanism to the appropriate height and
re−attach, see figure C3. The Biker Bar base can be
adjusted in 1/4" increments, see figure C4

3.

A 5/8" drill bit and drill.

The bike which will be clamped into the Biker
Bar is required for the installation process.

Tools and hardware required:

Four fasteners for anchor plates,
wood screws (size #10 or larger) or 3/8" bolts,
Tools to attach either.

A tape measure and marker.

Two 9/16" wrenches and/or sockets.

One 15/16" wrench or socket.

The platform which the product will be attached to must
be strong enough to withstand the forces associated
with securely holding and transporting a motorcycle
(properly supported ¾" plywood equivalent or higher).
The mounting surface must be uniformly level and free
of debris. Do not mount the Biker Bar to any platform
which may have structural defects, cracks, or is
degraded in a way which might detract from the
platforms ability to hold a properly mounted motorcycle.

CAUTION: The Biker Bar height must be set while
the bikes suspension is compressed. The upward
pressure exerted by the suspension is critical in
stabilizing the bike when trailered. Failure to sit
on the bike when measuring and adjusting the
height may cause serious injury and/or property
damage.

Using the Biker Bar.

Riding in: With the Biker Bar clamp securely
attached to the bike, ride slowly into the trailer.
Approach the Base and ride the front tire through.
Very slowly procede untill the clamping bar latches
into the base.
Riding out: Push down on the clamp handles on
eather side of the base, see figure D1. Slowly ride out
of the base.

CAUTION: Riding into a trailer which is not level
side to side is dangerous and will not allow
latching of the biker bar. Always check that the
trailer is on level ground before riding into it.
Ignoring this precaution can cause serious injury.

Do not modify this product in any manner. Doing so
could alter its integrity and lead to a loss of attachment
between the trailer and the motorcycle.
