ETC intends this document to be provided in its entirety.

To install the pole mount:

Refer to the illustrations on the next page.

Step 1: Bolt the fixture or fixtures to the mount with two or three provided bolts through the holes in the base of the

yoke. When using center hole only, use the provided larger ½”-13 stainless steel bolt, nut, and washers.

Step 2: Route the power and DMX/RDM cables through the cable grips and pull to the supply cable and network

cable. Leave slack in the cables between the fixture and the cable grips to allow focusing of the fixture.

Step 3: Tighten the cable grips.
Step 4: Make the electrical connection to the supply cable inside the pole.
Step 5: Make the DMX/RDM connections at the Terminal board.
Step 6: Place the pole mount and fixture assembly onto the pole.
Step 7: Attach a safety cable from the fixture to a secure location on the mounting structure.
Step 8: Focus the fixture or fixtures.
Step 9: Tighten the four hex screws to secure the pole mount to the pole.

Installation

Electrical

A Single fixture or Twin fixture Pole mount is used to attach the Desire XTI fixture to a pole. The single fixture Pole

mount fits 2-3/8 inch nominal poles. The twin Pole mount fits 4 inch nominal poles and allows you to attach two

fixtures side-by-side on one pole. Both mounts can be rotated for focusing.

Install on a suitable, rigid permanent pole with hex screws. The pole must meet the published weight and wind-load

requirements for the fixture. Use application appropriate bolts, nuts, and washers such as hot-dipped zinc or

stainless steel for wet locations.
D40XTI:

● Weight: 16 pounds per fixture, exclusive of accessories and/or color filters.

● Wind Load: 0.72 cubic feet of effective projected area (EPA).

D60XTI

● Weight: 23 pounds per fixture, exclusive of accessories and/or color filters.

● Wind Load: 0.95 cubic feet of effective projected area (EPA).

Use only the center hole in the yoke if frequent focus adjustments are needed. Use all three holes when the location

is fixed. The curved holes in the yoke allow small aiming adjustments.
Reference D40/D60XTI Installation Instructions for information about electrical requirements and installing the

fixture. The instructions include a yoke template and are available for download at

www.etcconnect.com.

Keep the following in mind while installing the fixture and pole mounts.

● The curved slots on the yoke provide small aiming adjustments. For larger focusing adjustment, loosen the

four hex screws on the pole mount and rotate. Be sure to re-tighten.

● The fixture must be attached to the mount and the power cord and DMX/RMD cord pulled through the

cable grips prior to mounting the assembly on the pole.

● The fixture and mount assembly is heavy. This is especially true of the twin mount assembly. Take the

necessary precautions to ensure your safety.

● The fixture must be installed by a qualified electrician.

● The fixture must be installed in accordance with national, state, and local electrical codes.

● The fixture must be grounded.

● An application-appropriate electrical junction box with cord grips is required.

● The junction boxes must not interfere with focusing.

● The fixture is completely pre-wired at the factory and there is no need for entry into the housing.

● The fixture must be connected to a non-dimmable power source in order to avoid damage to its internal

power supply and other electrical components. Dimming will damage the fixture and void the warranty.

Power Requirements

● Acceptable voltage is rated 100 to 240VAC 50/60 Hz universal power input.

CAUTION: The fixture is sold for 100 to 240VAC universal power input. Verify that the

voltage requirements matches the power supply. Connecting the fixture to the wrong

voltage voids the warranty.

NOTE: The EPA number is obtained by estimating Cd (wind drag coefficient) and

multiplying it with the projected area of the object. Wind drag coefficients were obtained

from AASHTO sixth edition 2013.
