GAME SET-UP
1. Set up your Sports Toss game board on a desk, table or on the floor.
2. Each team gets 3 bean bags of the same color. (For single players, alternate bean bag
colors).
3. Team members stand or sit 3-8 feet away from the board and take turns tossing one
Bean bag at a time, aiming for the goal (hole).
4. Determine which team takes the first turn by having each team take 1 throw. The
team that gets their bean bag in or closest to the goal (hole) plays first.
SCORING
1. A bean bag in the goal (hole) scores 3 points.
2. A bean bag landing on the board scores 1 point UNLESS that bean bag falls or gets
knocked off the board by another bean bag (in which case no points are scored).
3. A team whose bean bag falls or gets knocked into the goal (hole) scores 3 points.
GAME OPTIONS
Option 1: The first team to get 21 points is the winner. Each team alternates turns until
one reaches a score of 21. If both teams reach 21 in the same number of turns, continue
playing until one team is up by 2 points.
Option 2: 4 quarters of play. Each quarter consists of 2 turns, or 6 throws, per team. The
team that has the highest score at the end of 4 quarters is the winner.
Option 3: Differential point scoring is used. Each team throws 3 bean bags per turn. If
BLACK team gets a goal (+3) and RED team gets 2 bean bags on the board earning 2
points (+2), BLACK team gets the difference of the two scores (3-2=1). 4 quarters of
play. Each quarter consists of 3 turns, or 9 throws per team. The team with the highest
score at the end of the 4 quarters is the winner.
OVERTIME
If a tie occurs, the game goes into overtime. Each team takes another 3 throws to
determine the winner.
