BINOCULAR INSTRUCTIONS

Congratulations on the purchase of your new Sightron

Binocular. Sightron makes several types of precision

binoculars for varied uses. These instructions will help you

achieve maximum performance regardless of the model you

have chosen. Should you ever need assistance in choosing the

correct binoculars for a specific application, please contact our

Customer Service Department at 1-919-562-3000 or you

can email us at [email protected].

EYE ADJUSTMENTS

Interpupillary distance (IPD) is the distance from the center of

one eye to the other. To set the distance correctly hold your

binocular in the correct viewing position and move the barrel

until you see one circular field. Once you have achieved a

perfect

circular field note the IPD reading on your binocular for future

quick adjustments.

Note: Compact binoculars do not have an IPD scale.

ADJUSTING YOUR EYECUPS

Sightron offers several types of eyecups depending on the model

of binocular used. Adjusting your eyecups will allow people

wearing glasses to achieve a full field of view that would

otherwise be reduced. Please see the illustrations for proper

eyecup adjustment on the various Sightron models.

FOCUSING YOUR BINOCULAR

All Sightron Binoculars are adjustable for individual eye focus.

To adjust for your eyes close your right eye and focus your left

eye using the center focus wheel. Once the left eye is in focus,

close the left eye and turn the right diopter until the right eye is

in focus. Both eyes are now in focus, rotate the center focus

wheel to adjust the focus for objects near or far until clear.

BINOCULAR CARE AND CLEANING

If you have purchased a waterproof model (SII Waterproof

Series, SII Big Sky or SIII Series) your binocular is waterproof

and fog proof and will provide many years of trouble free

service. Non-Waterproof models are not fog-proof or waterproof

and should not be used in conditions where water or harsh

conditions will cause them to fog. It is best to store all

binoculars in a safe clean environment where they will be free

from excessive knocks and hard vibrations.

Never attempt to wipe mud or dirt from lenses as the grit will

scratch the lenses and remove the lens coating from your

binoculars. To clean use distilled alcohol or purchase a camera

cleaning kit from your local department store. Never use a

standard window cleaning solution as they will scratch the

lenses. Never attempt to clean your binocular by removing lenses

or disassembly.

CAUTION:

Never attempt to view the sun with your binocular or the naked

eye, permanent injury and loss of sight may occur.
