1394 External Shunt Resistor Kit

Introduction
This publication provides the information necessary to install the
1394 External Shunt Resistor kit on a 5 or 10 kW 1394 system.
The 1394-SR10A External Shunt Resistor provides a way of
dissipating regenerative energy that exceeds the capacity of the
internal shunt resistor provided with every 5 and 10 kW system
module. Shunt Resistor kits mounted outside your 1394 system
cabinet can require additional guarding or other enclosures to meet
local codes.
Important: The 1394-SR10A Shunt Resistor kit should only be used
with 5 and 10 kW 1394 systems. If you are using a
22 kW 1394 system, refer to the 1394 Digital AC Multi-
Axis Motion Control System User Manual (publication
1394-5.0) for information on the 1394-SRxAx Shunt
Modules.
