118 Configure and Startup the Kinetix 2000 Drive System
Configure the Motion Group
Follow these steps to configure the motion group.
1. Right-click Motion Groups in the DriveExplorer software dialog and
select New Motion Group.
The New Tag dialog opens.
2. Name the new motion group.
3. Click OK.
New group appears under the Motion Groups folder.
4. Right-click the new motion group and select Properties.
The Motion Group Properties dialog opens.
5. Select the Axis Assignment tab and move your axes (created earlier)
from Unassigned to Assigned.
6. Select the Attribute tab and edit the default values as appropriate for
your application. The coarse update rate must be a multiple of the
SERCOS ring rate.
7. Click OK.
