K507L, K507L-V, K507L-HP AND K507L-V-HP INSTALLATION AND

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

1. Remove the cover plate from the extra pump pocket and insert the controller into the pocket. The front of the K507L

must face the side of the lubricator box that has the sight glass.

2. Connect the safety switch wire from the controller terminal to the low tension terminal on the magneto or other source

of grounding.
IMPORTANT! The K507L uses a case to ground switch that will not function properly if exposed to water. A ½”
FNPT port is provided on the wire outlet to provide a means to seal the switch cavity. The use of conduit here is
strongly recommended! The conduit should be sealed with Teflon tape or pipe dope at the controller. The path of the
conduit must also be water tight all the way to the low tension terminal on the magneto or other source of grounding.
If conduit cannot be used, an optional wire sealing cap (Kenco Part Number 51006) is available and will provide the
protection needed. For details on the Wire Sealing Cap, see figure A and the installation instructions below figure A.

3. To connect the oil supply reservoir to the controller, it is recommended that the oil supply lines are flushed prior to

installation to remove any debris which could interfere with the correct operation of the controller. The minimum
recommended supply line size is ½” I.D.
For the K507L and K507L-V, the reservoir must be at least one foot to a maximum of 14 feet above the controller.
For the K507L-HP and K507L-V-HP, the recommended supply pressure is 5 to 60 psi.

4. If the wire must be removed from the controller for any reason, use the supplied .050” hex key wrench (Kenco Part

Number 51294) to loosen the set screw shown. When installing the wire, make sure the conductor is pushed all the
way into the standoff before tightening the setscrew. There should be no copper wire showing when finished.

Wire Sealing Cap Installation Instructions:

1. Wrap Teflon tape around the NPT threads of the Wire Sealing Cap.

2. Making sure the ¼” compression nut is loose, insert the wire through the sealing cap. The wire should slide in

the sealing cap easily with very little resistance. This can be done with the wire attached to the controller or not.

3. With the wire attached to the controller, slide the Wire Sealing Cap down to the controller and screw in tightly.

Make sure the ¼” compression nut is still loose when this is done! If the compression nut is too tight, it can
cause the wire to turn with the cap as it is tightened and it will twist and damage the wire, possibly causing the
case to ground switch to function improperly or not at all!

4. After the Wire Sealing Cap is tightened, snug down the compression nut. This will seal the wire.

5. Reverse the procedure to uninstall.
