INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING FIRE SAFE VALVES

MODELS 50-KFS AND 75-KFS

INLET SIDE

Install the Model 50-KFS as close to the controller inlet or KENCO Low Flow Meter as
possible.

OUTLET SIDE

Install the Model 75-KFS as close to the engine crankcase as possible.

1. All oil lines between the tank and the Fire Safe Valve and also between the Fire
Safe Valve and the controller must be steel. Do not use rubber hose. The lines
connecting to the 50-KFS should be ½” I.D. and the lines connecting to the 75-KFS
should be ¾” I.D.

2. When installing the Fire Safe Valve, the eutectic fuse element should be in a
downward position to ensure that the fuse is exposed directly to the heat source that is
being applied to the Fire Safe Valve.

3. The placement of the Fire Safe Valve into the oil lines is shown in the diagram
below.

Note: Flow on the KFS valve is bidirectional. Either port can serve as the inlet or
outlet.
