Use only fluid that meets Ford specifications. Refer to Maintenance
Product Specifications and Capacities in this chapter.
DRIVELINE UNIVERSAL JOINT AND SLIP YOKE
If the original universal joints are replaced with universal joints equipped
with grease fittings, lubrication will be necessary. Refer to the
replacement universal joint manufacturer’s recommendation for
lubrication type and maintenance intervals.
AIR FILTER MAINTENANCE
Refer to the scheduled maintenance information for the appropriate
intervals for changing the air filter element.
When changing the air filter element, use only the Motorcraft air filter
element listed. Refer to Motorcraft part numbers in this chapter.
The following procedure is for vehicles equipped with a gasoline engine.
If your vehicle is equipped with a diesel engine, refer to the 6.0 and 6.4
Liter Power Stroke Direct Injection Turbo Diesel Owner’s Guide
Supplement.
Note: Do not start your engine with the air cleaner removed and do not
remove it while the engine is running.
Changing the air filter element
1. Loosen clamp and disconnect
sensor.
