Cannot record movies on this memory card

- Movies cannot be recorded on a 64 MB or smaller memory card.

Cannot record movies on this memory card Initialize only using the camcorder

- The memory card in the camcorder was initialized using a computer. Initialize the memory card with this

camcorder (

31).

Cannot record Cannot access the HDD

- There is a problem with the hard disk.

Cannot record Check the memory card

- There is a problem with the memory card.

Change the battery pack

- Battery pack is exhausted. Replace or charge the battery pack (

21).

Check the memory card

- Cannot access the memory card. Check the memory card and make sure it is inserted correctly (

30).

- A memory card error occurred. The camcorder cannot record or display the image.
- You inserted a MultiMedia Card (MMC) into the camcorder. Replace it with an SD/SDHC memory card

compatible for use with this camcorder (

29).

- If after the message disappears,

appears in red, perform the following: Turn off the camcorder and

remove and reinsert the memory card. If

turns back to green you can resume recording/playback.

- Initialize the memory card (

31). (Doing so will erase all the recordings on the memory card.)

Connect the compact power adapter

- When the camcorder is in

mode and is connected to a computer, this message will appear if the

camcorder is being powered by the battery pack. Connect the compact power adapter to the camcorder.

Could not add the scene(s) to the playlist

- One or more scenes could not be added to the playlist (

56). You cannot add more than 999 scenes to the

playlist. If the playlist includes scenes recorded in MXP or FXP mode, the maximum number of scenes in the
playlist may be less than 999. Delete some recordings (

42, 63).

Data includes scenes in MXP/FXP mode. Cannot copy to this memory card.

- Movies recorded in MXP or FXP mode cannot be copied onto a memory card if it is rated Speed Class 2.

Replace the memory card with one rated Speed Class 4 or higher.

Data is protected

- Scenes edited or protected using another device cannot be deleted with this camcorder.

Do not disconnect the USB cable or the power source while the camcorder is connected to a computer.
Cannot turn off the camcorder or change the operating mode.

- When the camcorder is in

mode and is connected to the computer with the supplied USB cable, the

camcorder cannot be operated. Disconnecting the USB cable or power source while this message appears
may result in permanent loss of the recordings in the camcorder. Use the computer's Safely Remove
Hardware function to end the connection and disconnect the USB cable before using the camcorder.

Drop detected. Power was turned off.

- When the camcorder is dropped while it is on, the camcorder automatically turns off to protect the hard disk.

This message appears the next time the camcorder is turned on. This is not a malfunction.
