Receiving documents manually__________
You may want to set your FAXPHONE to receive documents manually in the follow
ing case:

You want to personally check each incoming call to see it it is from a tax or from a
person.
Keep in mind that you cannot use manual receiving it a document is in the Automatic
Document Feeder (ADF) waiting to be sent.
Press [ANS HOOK UP/MANUAL] until icon appears above the button.

The icon appears to show that the FAXPHONE is set tor manual rccei\-
ing.

It’no icon appears, press |ANS HOOK L'P/MANUAL| to turn icon on.
When the FAXPHONE rings, pick up the handset.
For the FAXPHONE B540, pickup the handset of the extension phone you
have connected to the FAXPHONE.
If you hear a person's voice, start your conversation. If the caller wants to
send a document after talking to you, press [START/COPY] to receive the
document.

If YOU hear a slow beep or silence, another fax is trying to send you a docu
ment. Press I START/COPY I .

Eor the FAXPHONE B340, press "23" on the extension phone and hang up.
