Sending documents
Manual Sending
If you would like to first speak with the person you are sending the tax to, use Manual
Scndina.
Feed the document face-down into the Automatic
Document Feeder (ADF).
See Loading the document, pg.49.
Pick up the handset or press [ON HOOK] and dial
the other party's fax number.
I Use one of the dialing methods described ealier in
this chapter (see pg.55).
I For the FAXPHONE B540, pick up the handset of
the connected extension phone.
If a person answers, converse normally, then ask
them to press the start button on their fax. Press
[START/COPY] and hang up.
If you hear a high pitch tone, press [START/COPY|
and hang up.

Direct Sending
To scan and transmit a document one page at a time without storing it in memory lirst,
follow the steps below. This procedure is called "Direct sending”.
Use Direct Sending if you want to visually confirm that the FAXPHONE scans the
document. Each page is scanned as it is sent.

Press [START/COPY].
The FAXPHONE begins sending the document.
