The gain-up function lets you record more brightly than usual,
especially for when you are recording in dimly lit places.

1. Press and hold AWB/LOCK/GAIN UP button for

more than 3 seconds.

• “GAIN UP” appears in viewfinder.

2. Make your recording.

3. Press AWB/LOCK/GAIN UP button for more than

3 seconds to cancel gain-up.

• “GAIN UP” disappears from viewfinder, and recording

continues.

Notes:

• With gain-up, picture quality will suffer somewhat. Cancel gain-up when recording in a brightly lit area.
• It may be impossible to record in extremely dark places, even when using the gain-up feature. When

recording from only a short distance, use the video light supplied with your camera.

• If you turn off the power or switch to PLAY mode, gain-up will automatically be cancelled.
