SUPPORT POLE ASSEMBLY

The support pole is made from a regular 2 x 4 construction stud. To size the
length of the stud to fit your application, you will need to identify the overall
height required. On runabouts, this should be slightly higher or even with the
top of the windshield. On other types of boats, you will need to measure the
fit of your cover to the boat to make sure that you allow enough height to
properly allow for a good fit and not allow too much slack in the cover. You
may need to start with a longer support pole assembly and trim the 2 x 4
down to achieve the desired fit.

Install the caps to each end of the 2 x 4 (refer to Figure 1). Please note these
may fit tight so a rubber mallet may be necessary to assist in assembling the
caps. Lightly tap the caps in place. The bottom cap has a non-skid pad in the
center of the cap to reduce slipping on gel coat surfaces.

INSTALLATION

1. Place the support pole assembly in place to allow good drainage of the cover

and prevent pooling of rain water and debris. Typically, this is located

approximately halfway between the windshield and the stern of the boat. Your

application may be slightly different to gain the best support for your cover.

2. Install a tie down strap on each side of the frame (refer to Figure 2) in alignment

with the placement of the support pole assembly. Please refer to the strap

diagram (Figure 3).

3. Assemble the beam strap (12 ft. strap) through the slide buckle on one side of

the boat and position strap over the support pole assembly top cap (refer to

Figure 4). Assemble to the second tie-down strap buckle, take up slack and

adjust the strap so that there is a firm tension on the assembly.

Figure 4 | Figura 4

4. Using the long fore to aft strap, run the strap through the bow eye of the boat
and create two equal lengths of strap. Slide each end through the bow spacer
strap and run the ends toward the stern of the boat. This strap should be
positioned approximately 24'' from the bow of the boat (refer to Figure 5). This will
help the fore to aft strap to maintain a consistent spacing as it runs back to the
support pole assembly.

5. Position the fore to aft straps over the support pole top cap (refer to

Figure 6) and run back to the stern of the boat.

Figure 6
Figure 6 | Figura 6

6. Install tie-down straps at the stern of the boat. These can be attached

through the stern eyes, the trailer cross brace or cleats (if available) to

create good support for the cover.

7. Assemble the fore to aft strap to the tie-down straps at the stern of the boat

and tighten. Check assembly and adjust parts if necessary. Support pole

assembly needs to be straight up and down (90 degrees). Retighten entire

assembly to ensure solid support and allow good drainage of water from

your

cover.

Install your boat cover and review fit. Adjust boat cover support, if necessary,
to assure proper installation.

NOTE: Once you are sure that the cover is correctly fitted to your application,
the excess strapping may be removed if you desire.

CAUTION: The Boat Cover Support System is not recommended for
trailering.
