KX3-PCKT CABLE SET INSTRUCTIONS

Introduction
The KX3-PCKT cable set interfaces between the Elecraft KX3 and personal computers, and provides
convenient connection to an external foot switch and RF power amplifier. This cable set consists of four
components: a 3.5mm stereo right-angle to straight through cable (green band), a 3.5mm stereo right-angle to
straight through cable (red band), a 2.5mm right-angle to 3.5mm cable, and a 2.5mm stereo right-angle to KEY
OUT and PTT IN (or Transmit Inhibit, or AuxBus) molded module. These components are shown in Figure 1.

Installation Procedure
Connect the following cables. For every cable, the right-angle plug connects to the KX3.
Cable (Plug/Color) KX3 Jack Purpose
3.5mm-Red band PHONES Receive Audio to Computer MIC IN or LINE IN jack
3.5mm-Green band MIC Transmit Audio from Computer LINE OUT
2.5mm Module ACC2 Phono: External Amplifier KEY OUT line,
3.5mm jack (mono): AuxBus, PTT Input, Inhibit-Input
2.5mm-Black RX I/Q Receiver I/Q output to PC Sound Card LINE IN
Alternatively, either the Red or Green cable may be modified for use with the left-hand side KEY jack.
