Tools Required: Drill, 3/8 Wrench, Phillips Screwdriver, Marking Pencil, 3/16”Drill Bit, Tape Measure,
and C- Clamp

If your boat has the Oarlock holes pre-drilled, skip to Step #2 – Attach Pieces to Canoe


Step 1: Drill Holes
Refer to Chart # 1 for the standard measurement of where the Oar Socket is placed on the gunwales. Chart # 1 is for
reference only. You can use the measurements in the chart that match the model of boat you have or you can position the
Oar Socket at any measurement to suite your rowing style and comfort level. Make a mark on the gunwale with a
marking pencil. Repeat on the other side of the boat ensuring the measurements are equal on both sides.

Place the Oar Socket on the gunwale so the hole for the Oarlock is outboard the canoe, and the socket is centered on your
mark. See Fig. #1.
