This product is warranted by Anelace, Inc. to the original purchaser to
be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use
for a period of 90 days from the date of purchase. During the warranty
period, and upon proof of purchase, the product will be repaired or
replaced (with the same or similar model) at Anelace’s option without
any charge for either parts or labor. This warranty will not apply if the
product has been misused, abused, or altered. To obtain warranty ser-
vice you must send the product postage paid with a copy of your sales
receipt or other proof of purchase and the date of purchase to address
below. Due to the possibility of damage or loss, it is recommended
when sending the product that you package it securely.

This package contains a clock and a power unit.
Reading the clock
This clock is based on the binary number system, the language of computers.
Six digits are required to indicate time. For example, at 10:48 and 36 seconds, we write 10:48:36.
This clock uses 6 columns: each column represents a number value from 0 to 9. The two columns on the left indicate hours, the middle two are minutes, and the right two are seconds.
The value of each column is determined by which lights are ON:
The bottom light, if ON, is worth “1”. The one above it is worth “ 2,” the third one from the bottom is worth “4,” and the top one is worth “8.”
Add the values of the ON light positions to get the final value.
• Fig. 3 - In this example, the bottom three lights are ON. Add their respective values of “1”, “2”, and “4” to get a total value of “7”.
• Fig. 4 illustrates all 10 possible values.
• Fig. 5 demonstrates what the clock will look like at 10:48:36 in BCD.
Setting up your new Powers of 2 ® XLD clock
• Fig. 1a: Plug the connector at the end of the power unit cord into the socket in the hole in the bottom of the clock. Route the cord into the channel provided.
• Place the clock on the wall using the attachment keyholes on the rear of the clock. For table top display, stand the clock on a horizontal surface as follows:
(a) Remove the legs from their stowed positions by pulling gently on the ends at the bottom of the clock. See Fig. 2a.
(b) Turn each leg upside down so that the “ears” on the legs can be inserted into one of the 4 slots near the top of the channel in which it was stowed (see Fig. 2b)
(c) Insert the ears on each leg FULLY into corresponding slots. If this does not give the desired tilt to the clock, try a different slot pair.
• Now, plug the power unit into an electrical outlet that matches the adapter that came with your unit (read the label on the adapter). Anelace offers three versions: a 120V / 60 Hz outlet
model for the normal U.S. power line, and two 220-240V / 50 Hz versions for most other places in the world. A row of lights will scan up and down on the face of the clock to indicate that
the clock has been powered on, but that the time has not yet been set. This scan will exercise all 20 lights.
⇒ WARNING: Be sure that the line voltage is correct for your adapter.
• Setting the time (see Fig. 1b).
- Hours: To set hours, push and release the button marked “H” on the rear of the clock to advance the hours by one unit. Hold the ‘H’ button down to cycle the hours automatically.
- Minutes: To set minutes, use the above procedure, except push the button marked “M.”
- Seconds: To reset the seconds’ counter to zero, push the “H” and the “M” buttons at the same time. Release them both to allow the seconds to advance.
• Special options.
- 24 hour clock: The clock offers 12 hour (default) and 24 hour - e.g. 11PM = ‘23:00:00’ - display modes. To alternate between the two modes: slide the switch marked "12/24" between the
two positions (see Fig. 1c)
- Binary Mode: The clock offers both BCD (default) and “true” binary display. In “true” binary mode, the bottom row of lights represents seconds, the second row up from the bottom
represents minutes and the next row up represents hours (the top row is not used). Fig. 6 demonstrates what the clock will look like at 10:48:36 in "true" binary.
To select between the two modes: slide the switch marked "BCD/BIN" between the two positions (see Fig. 1d).
- DIM: There are 3 brightness settings for the LEDs. To cycle through the settings, press the “DIM” button (see Fig. 1e).
- Battery Backup: In case of power loss, the display will extinguish. To have the clock continue to maintain the time, install 3 "AA" size batteries as shown in Fig. 1f.

• The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no
objects filled with liquids, such as vases, should be placed so that
they can spill on the apparatus.
• Do not cover the apparatus with materials that will impede its cooling.
