Planning and Creating a Switch Stack (Only 3130G-S and 3130X-S Switches)

Connecting the StackWise Plus Cables

Follow these steps to connect the StackWise Plus cables:

Step 1

Remove the dust covers from the StackWise Plus cables, and store them for
future use.

Step 2

Verify that cables are aligned as shown in

Figure 8

.

Inserting the StackWise Plus Cable

Step 3

Insert one end of the cable into the StackWise Plus port on the front panel of the
switch. Insert the other end of the cable into the connector on the other switch (see

Figure 8

).

Always use a Cisco-approved StackWise Plus cable to connect the switches.

When you remove the StackWise Plus cables from the connectors, replace the dust
covers to protect them from dust.

Caution

Removing and installing the StackWise Plus cable can shorten its useful life. Do
not remove and insert the cable more often than is absolutely necessary.
