disabled, the power available to the system is the combined power of the power supplies. Note that in this configuration, if

one supply fails, the system might not have enough power to supply all the modules. To enable or disable power redundancy,

the following command is used:

Sup-A> (enable) set power redundancy enable | disable

Each line card has different power requirements so power requirements vary from chassis to chassis. The user guide

documents the Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series power requirements to help you understand the power requirements for each

particular line card. These requirements are described at:

Conclusion

The High Availability and Redundancy features of the Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series provide a very reliable switching and

routing platform. The hardware redundancy provided by dual supervisor engines, dual routing engines, dual switching fabrics,
