Flow Limiting Valves on LP Gas Tanks

Check all connections for LP Gas Leaks

Your LP gas tank is equipped with a flow iimiting
vaive that wiii restrict the flow of gas due to a
sudden change in pressure. This can often activate
without your knowiedge. You wiii notice among other
things that your griii does not get as hot as it shouid,
wiii take ionger to heat up, or you may not be abie to

iight aii burners. If you notice any of the above, then

you shouid reset the vaive and dear your gas iine.

To do this

1. Ensure the LP gas tank vaive is OFF.

Disconnect the reguiator from the LP gas tank.

Open aii burner controi knobs inciuding the
side burner to Fli at the same time.
Ciose aii burner controi knobs to OFF.

Let the LP gas tank stand for at ieast 10
minutes.
Reconnect the reguiator assembiy to the LP

gas tank.
Siowiy, meaning about 1/4 turn at a time,
turn on the LP gas vaive.

Foiiow the burner iighting procedures to iight

the burner farthest away from the gas source.
The flow iimiting vaive shouid now be reset.

This flow iimiting vaive is triggered by sudden

changes in pressure. This can be caused by a ieak,
fauity connection of the reguiator to the LP gas tank,
turning on the LP gas tank vaive too quickiy, or
turning the burners off by turning the LP gas tank
vaive off before turning the burner controi knobs to
off. Note: aiways turn off your burners using the
burner controi knobs first before turning the LP gas
tank vaive off.

Transportation and Storage

1. Piace dust cap on the cyiinder vaive outiet

whenever the cyiinder is not in use. Oniy
instaii the type of dust cap on the cyiinder

vaive outiet that is provided with the cyiinder
vaive. Other types of caps or piugs may resuit

in ieakage of propane.

2. Aiways transport your cyiinder in an upright

position.

Do not smoke when transporting your cyiinder.

Never

test for ieaks with a flame. Prior to

first use, at the beginning of each season
or every time your LP Gas tank is changed
you must check for gas ieaks. Foiiow
these three steps:

Make a soap soiution by mixing one part
iiquid detergent and one part water

Turn the burner controi knobs to the OFF position.
Then turn the gas ON at the source.

Appiy the soap soiution to aii gas connections

indicated by the arrows. See diagram. If
bubbies appear in the soap soiution the
connections are not properiy seaied. Check
each fitting and tighten or repair as
necessary.

If you have a gas leak that cannot be repaired

by tightening, turn off the gas at the

source, disconnect fuel line from your grill

and call 1-800-4-MY-HOME«) or your

gas supplier for repair assistance.

Disconnecting A Liquid Propane Gas (LPG)

Make sure the burner valves and LP gas

tank valve are off. (Turn clockwise
to close.)

Detach the hose and regulator assembly

from the LP gas tank valve by turning the quick
coupling nut counterclockwise
