A technique used to finish the outside edges of light to

medium weight fabrics. Avoid using fabrics that unravel

easily.

(T) Wrong side of fabric
(2) Lower iooper thread
(1) Right side of fabric

Serge edge of fabric (one layer).
Pull the fabric lightly to the back while serging.
This edging is effective for soft knits.
Experiment with various threads, yarns and ribbons to
create a decorative effect.
For lettuce leaf edging, stretch the fabric in front of the
needle while serging or use the differential feed (set the
ratio between 0.5 and 1.0).
