Clip fabric corner, as illustrated, with scissors.

Serge along the cutting line up to 1" (2.5 cm) before
the corner.
I Pull the fabric toward you in order to keep the cutting
line of the fabric straight. Then continue serging.

Edging curves
• Outside curves
Serge slowly around the curve, pushing the fabric into the
presser foot and knife to make an even edge.
Inside curves
Serge the curve slowly, pulling the front portion of the
fabric to make an even edge.
