Playback

Displaying the Date and

Time of Recording

Follow the procedure below to display the date,

or both the date and time, of recording on the

screen. You can display the date and time
during both recording and playback.

• The example screens shown are for CAMERA

mode.

Press the MENU button until the menu

screen appears.

Press 7 or A on the operation button

to select ©, then press the SET button.

Press 7 or A to select “DISPLAY”, then
press the SET button.

Gamma Playback

The gamma playback function improves the

playback picture in VCR mode by increasing

the brightness of the subject while leaving the

brighter portions of the image unaffected.

During playback, press the GAMMA/

BRIGHTER button once.

• “GAMMA1 ” appears, and the picture becomes

brighter.

Press the MENU button until the date (or

date and time) displays.

To obtain a brighter picture, press the GAMMA/

BRIGHTER button again,

• “GAMMA2” appears.

Notes:
• The date (or date and time) appears when the

on-screen indicators are turned on.

• Before recording, make sure that the date and

time have been correctly set. If they have not

been set, the display will be left blank when
playing back the recording. (The display will also
be left blank for unrecorded or damaged
portions of the tape.)

• In VCR mode, the current date and time are

displayed when the tape is not being played
back.

To cancel Gamma Playback

Press the GAMMA/BRIGHTER button until
“GAMMA1” and “GAMMA2” disappear.

Note:
• Gamma Playback has no effect during still

playback.
