DESCRIPTION
The ALTEC 9845A Monitor/Playback Speaker
System is designed for applications where
extended frequency response, low distortion,
maximum sensitivity and wide dynamic range
are required. The bass loudspeaker is capable of
producing excellent low-frequency response
with minimal input power. The dividing network
has a switchable shelving adjustment from 0 dB
to —6 dB in 1.5 dB steps. Frequencies above
500 Hz are handled by a compression driver
mounted on a sectoral high-frequency horn.
The housing is a ported enclosure constructed
of %-inch material. It is heavily braced internally
and lined with acoustic damping material. The
enclosure is finished in gray lacquer and includes
a complementary black grille cloth.
Typical applications for the 9845A include
recording studio control room monitoring,
remix studios, mastering rooms, audition rooms,
broadcast studio monitoring and playback, audi
toriums, nightclubs, conference rooms, theatres,
and church sound reinforcement systems.
