Note on Using and Servicing of

Auto Drain Assembly

Please note that Auto Drain Assembly

1.

will seal only with minimum pressure

of 7 psi. When there is no pressure at

all in the bowl, the Auto Drain will be

open allowing liquid to drain. This is a

design feature to facilitate overnight

draining of accumulated condensate.
Bowls with Auto Drain should be in-

2.

stalled in vertical condition only. Even

while testing, they should be held up-

right.
If the Auto Drain is leaking continuous-

3.

ly, a possible cause is foreign particles

are entrapped in the sealing area be-

tween parts (2) and (3). To clear these

particles, insert a small diameter ob-

ject similar to the tip of a pen into the

bottom of the Auto Drain as shown in

Sketch 1. This may displace the con-

taminating particles allowing proper

sealing of the drain seat.
If the liquid level continues to rise,

4.

proper draining is not occurring. In this

case, open Nut (6). The Auto Drain As-

sembly can now be removed from the

bowl.
Remove the Cap (1) and Float

5.

Assembly (2).

It should not be dis-

mantled any further. Clean in mineral

spirits. Reassemble and use. While re-

assembling, ensure that black marked

lines on Float (2) and Auto Drain (3)

are in the same line. Ensure the thin

stainless steel pin on top of item (3) is

not damaged.
Should an Auto Drain continue to

6.

malfunction after such servicing,

replace the whole assembly .
