Glossary

CT Bus

A time division multiplex (TDM) bus that provides 1024, 2048, or 4096 time slots for
exchanging voice, fax, or other network resources on a PCI (H.100) or CompactPCI
(H.110) backplane. The Enterprise Computer Telephony Forum (ECTF) developed the
H.100 hardware compatibility specification that defined the CT Bus, a high-
performance mezzanine bus. The CT Bus works with both SCbus and Multivendor
Integration Protocol (MVIP) compatible products.

ESD

Electrostatic Discharge. The transfer of charge between bodies at different electrical
potentials, which can be potentially dangerous to sensitive electronic components.

HDD

Hard Disk Drive

SELV

Safety Extra Low Voltage. A type of circuit classification.

SS7 Signaling Board

A generic term used to refer to SPCI2S, SPCI4 or SS7HDP boards.

Signaling Board

Subsystem

The appropriate selection of SS7 Signaling Boards for a given variant, configured,
mounted and retained in a sub-frame with Riser Board, which can be easily removed
and re-inserted in the main chassis as a single sub-assembly.

SPCI2S

A PCI board (full product ID: SS7SPCI2SQ) that combines onboard support for SS7
common channel signaling protocols, with two digital line interfaces (T-1/E-1) and an
H.100 PCM highway.

SPCI4

A PCI board (full product ID: SS7SPCI4Q) that combines onboard support for SS7
common channel signaling protocols, with four digital line interfaces (T-1/E-1) and an
H.100 PCM highway.

SS7HDP

An identifier for Dialogic

®

High Density SS7 PCI boards (full product ID:

SS7HDPD4TEW).

SS7G2x

An identifier for a family of Signaling Servers, which includes the Dialogic

®

SS7G21

and SS7G22.

SS7G21

The identifier for a Dialogic

®

Signaling Server product that contains SPCI4 or SPCI2S

Signaling Boards.

SS7G22

The identifier for a Dialogic

®

Signaling Server product that contains SS7HDP Signaling

Boards.

TNV

Telecom Network Voltage. A type of circuit classification.
