Install jumper lead to battery (B+)
terminal on top of vehicle cable.

34SI™ - 35SI™ - 36SI REMOTE SENSE JUMPER LEAD INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

This jumper lead is only for use with 34SI, 35SI and 36SI alternators that are equipped with the remote sense feature and do not
have a remote sense wire connected from the vehicle.

Under certain normal vehicle operating conditions, some of these vehicles may have a higher than desirable voltage at the
battery terminals. Proper installation of this sense jumper lead will reduce the voltage to the desired range.

WARNING!!!

ALWAYS USE PROPER EYE PROTECTION WHEN PERFORMING ANY MECHANICAL REPAIRS TO A VEHICLE

INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY INSTALLATION AND OR REPAIRS TO THE DELCO REMY
ALTERNATORS. FAILURE TO USE PROPER EYE PROTECTION CAN LEAD TO SERIOUS AND PERMANENT EYE
DAMAGE.

DANGER!!!

To avoid injury or damage, always disconnect the negative cable at the battery before removing or replacing

the alternator. The alternator output terminal is always live (“hot”). If the battery is not disconnected, a tool accidentally touching this
terminal and ground can quickly get hot enough to burn skin or damage to the tools and surrounding parts.

FOLLOW ENGINE OR VEHICLE MANUFACTURER’S INSTRUCTIONS FOR REMOVING AND REINSTALLING THE ALTERNATOR
FROM THE ENGINE, IF REMOVAL IS NECESSARY.

CAUTION!!!

Installation of the jumper lead should not be attempted with vehicle battery(s) connected to the alternator.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURES:

Remove alternator battery and sense terminals hardware. When removing or installing alternator hardware, hold the bottom jam
nut with a wrench to prevent loosening the terminals from the alternator.

Place jumper lead eyelets over the battery and sense terminals.

-

Place lead with eyelet crimps up.

-

Route lead as shown in graphic below.

Replace hardware on sense terminals finger tight.

Lift jumper lead off of battery terminal.

Install vehicle battery cable first.

Install jumper lead to B+ terminal on top of vehicle cable and reinstall battery terminal hardware.

Hold the sense lead in place and torque the battery and sense terminal nuts to specifications.

Recommended battery terminal torque is 6.2-6.9 Nm (55-70 lb in).

Recommended sense terminal torque is 1.7-2.8 Nm (15-25 lb in).

Reconnect the negative (-) cable at the battery.
