For your safety
• The unit may only be installed and
commissioned by personnel who are
familiar with both these instructions and
the current regulations for health and
safety at work and accident prevention.
Ensure VDE and local regulations are
met, especially those relating to safety.
• Any guarantee is rendered invalid if the
housing is opened or unauthorised
modifications are carried out.
• Check the function of the pushbutton
before commissioning for the first time
and then at regular intervals (at least
annually).
Intended use
The PIT js2 is a manually operated
command device that can be used as an
enabling device. It allows authorised
personnel to monitor processes in the
danger zone of automated manufacturing
facilities when movable guards are open.
Additional protection measures (e.g.
reduced speed) may be required relative to
the result of the risk assessment!
Use the following units as an evaluation
device:
• PSS programmable safety system in
conjunction with standard function block
SB059
• PNOZmulti modular safety system with
the two-hand module
• Two-hand relays

Unit description
The PIT js2 command device consists of a
plastic housing with 3 buttons.
Features:
• 2
buttons (ACT1 and ACT2) for the two-
hand function
(N/C / N/O contact, respectively)
• 1 button (RESET) for the reset function
(N/O)
• The contacts are connected by a coiled
cable with an open end
Function description
An enabling signal is generated in
conjunction with a two-hand monitoring
module by simultaneously pressing the
ACT1 and ACT2 buttons. This overrides the
safety function of the movable guards.
Authorised operating personnel then can
enter the danger zone to monitor work
processes.

und den geltenden Vorschriften über
Arbeitssicherheit und Unfallverhütung
vertraut sind. Beachten Sie die VDE-
sowie die örtlichen Vorschriften, insbe-
sondere hinsichtlich Schutzmaßnahmen.
• Durch Öffnen des Gehäuses oder
eigenmächtige Umbauten erlischt jegliche
Gewährleistung.
• Prüfen Sie die Funktion des Tasters vor
der ersten Inbetriebnahme und führen Sie
regelmäßige Prüfungen (mind. jährlich)
durch.
Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Der PIT js2 ist ein handbetätigter Befehls-
geber, der als Zustimmeinrichtung verwen-
det werden kann. Autorisiertes Personal
kann damit bei geöffneten beweglich
trennenden Schutzeinrichtungen Prozesse
im Gefahrbereich von automatisierten
Fertigungseinrichtungen beobachten.
Abhängig vom Ergebnis der Risikoanalyse
sind zusätzliche Schutzmaßnahmen
erforderlich (zum Beispiel reduzierte
Geschwindigkeit)!
Verwenden Sie als Auswerteeinheit folgende
Geräte:

Gerätebeschreibung
Der Befehlsgeber PIT js2 besteht aus einem
Kunstoffgehäuse, in dem 3 Taster unterge-
bracht sind.
Merkmale:
• 2 Taster (ACT1 und ACT2) für die
Zweihandfunktion
(jeweils Öffner/Schließer)
• 1 Taster (RESET) für die Resetfunktion
(S)
• Die Kontakte sind mit einem Spiralkabel
mit offenem Ende verbunden
Funktionsbeschreibung
In Verbindung mit einem Zweihand-
überwachungsbaustein wird durch gleich-
zeitiges Drücken beider Taster ACT1 und
ACT2 ein Zustimmsignal erzeugt. Damit
kann die Schutzwirkung von beweglichen
Schutzeinrichtungen aufgehoben werden.
Autorisiertes Bedienpersonal kann dann den
Gefahrenbereich zum Beobachten von
Arbeitsabläufen betreten.

• L’installation et la mise en service de
l’appareil doivent être effectuées par une
personne qui s’est familiarisée avec le
présent manuel d’utilisation et avec les
prescriptions relatives à la sécurité du
travail et à la prévention d’accidents.
Respectez les normes locales ou VDE,
particulièrement en ce qui concerne la
sécurité.
• L’ouverture de l’appareil ou sa
modification annule automatiquement la
garantie.
• Vérifiez le fonctionnement du bouton-
poussoir avant sa première mise en
service et effectuez des contrôles
réguliers (min. 1 fois par an).
Utilisation conforme
Le PIT js2 est un organe de commande manuel
pouvant être utilisé comme dispositif
d’assentiment. Il permet au personnel autorisé
d’observer des processus se déroulant dans la
zone dangereuse des équipements de
fabrication automatisés lorsque les dispositifs de
protection mobiles sont ouverts.
Selon le résultat de l’analyse des risques, des
mesures de protection supplémentaires
peuvent être nécessaires (vitesse réduite, par
exemple)!

Description de l’appareil
L’organe de commande PIT js2 se compose
d’un boîtier en plastique intégrant 3 poussoirs.
Particularités :
• 2 poussoirs (ACT1 et ACT2) destinés à la
commande manuelle
(respectivement contact repos/contact de
travail)
• 1 poussoir (RESET) destiné à la remise à
zéro (F)
• Les contacts sont reliés par un câble spiralé
dont l’extrémité n’est pas fermée
Description du fonctionnement
En liaison avec un bloc de surveillance à
commande bimanuelle, un signal d’assentiment
est généré par la pression simultanée des deux
poussoirs ACT1 et ACT2. Ceci permet de
suspendre l’effet protecteur des dispositifs de
protection mobiles.
Le personnel autorisé peut alors pénétrer dans
la zone dangereuse afin d’observer le
déroulement des processus.
