The newest version of the RM Remote Meter adds functionality
not found on the previous version, including a simplified
ON/OFF toggle control, "Low Battery" warning, and an attached
cable. This new version is easily identified by its Orange on
Black color scheme, as opposed to the previous version's Blue
color.

Connecting the RM
The RM utilizes a six pin Lemo-style circular connector that
allows it to interface with Remote Audio's BDSv3, HOT STRIP,
MEONv2, and SHUNT BOX. The Lemo-style connector is of the
push-pull locking type, and is keyed so it can only be inserted
one way. DO NOT attempt to disconnect the cable by twisting
or un-screwing; doing so will damage the connectors.

Low Battery Indicator
The illuminated toggle switch is a bi-color type that indicates
when your power source (typically a battery) falls below a
certain voltage level. This threshold voltage is selectable via a
switch inside the RM (fig 1).

When the battery voltage falls below the selected threshold, the
illuminated toggle will switch from Green to Red. Battery
voltage is influenced by the current draw of connected devices,
so some experimentation may be needed to find the correct
threshold for your setup.
To open the RM, remove the two phillips-head screws in the
back panel and separate the two halves of the shell. There will
be about four inches of cable looped inside, allowing for access
to the threshold switch (fig 2).

Using the RM
With the BDSv3 or SHUNT BOX:
With the RM connected, and the BDSv3 or SHUNT BOX toggle
switch is in the OFF position, the RM controls the on/off circuit
of the connected device. This allows the device to be placed
deep in the bag or cart, out of the way. To turn the BDSv3 or
SHUNT BOX on or off with the RM, flip the RM's toggle to the
"ON" position. When on, the RM will display the voltage of the
power source, and the toggle switch will illuminate (green or
red, depending on voltage). Pressing the lower button (labeled
"AMPS") will display the current draw of the devices being
powered for as long as the AMPS button is pressed. If the
BDSv3 or SHUNT BOX toggle switch is in the on position, the
RM will not turn off the device. In this case, the on-off function
of the RMv2 will only turn on and off the meter display.

With the HOT STRIP and MEONv2:
Flipping the toggle on the RM will turn the connected device
(HOT STRIP or MEONv2) on, and cause the associated LED
on the device to illuminate. This indicates that the RM is now
the "master", and powering ON and OFF can only occur
through the use of the RM's ON/OFF switch. When on, the RM
will display the voltage of the power source. Pressing the lower
button (labeled "AMPS") will display the current draw of the
devices being powered for as long as the AMPS button is
pressed.

Mounting Clip
The RM comes with a stainless steel clip to aid in securing the
box to a bag or strap. Additional holes on the box are available
for positioning the clip in various directions. Velcro® strips are
also included for situations where the clip is not desired. NOTE:
Keep the original clip screws. Attaching the clip with
screws longer than those originally supplied can damage
the RM and void the warranty.
