Installation

The SmartBox+ Amplifier should be attached to the SmartBox+ in the final stages of assembly of
the SmartBox+. The SmartBox+ should be fully assembled with the exception of the two side
panels covering the wiring.

The top cover of the SmartBox+ Amp should be attached to the bottom of the SmartBox+ with the
4 Philips pan head screws and washers (provided). Screw down from the SmartBox+ into the
four screw holes to attach to the four screw holes in the lid of the SmartBox+ Amp.

Once the SmartBox+ Amp is connected to the SmartBox+, you are ready to make the necessary
audio connections. The audio input connection is pre-terminated with a 5-position terminal block
connector for easy connection to the SP Controls AFVP+ Preamp Switcher (SP3-AFVP+). The
audio out to the speakers are called out below in Technical Specifications. Connect audio out to
your speaker wire with the wire nuts provided. All wires should be routed up along the open sides
of the SmartBox+ before the sides are attached. Power should be routed up one side and
speaker/line level on the other.

The final step of installation is to complete assembly of the SmartBox+ by reattaching the left and
right sides of the unit. The bottom front corners of the SmartBox+ sides are cut with two screw
holes to secure the sides of the SmartBox+ which cover the wiring. Instead of using the short
screws included with the SmartBox+, use the two long screws included with the SmartBox+ Amp.
They should screw up through the front corners of the SmartBox+ Amp and into the bottom of the
side panels of the SmartBox+ to secure the sides.
