Introduction

The MM-ISA (Ignition Switch Activate) pigtail adapter is designed to automati-

cally turn the inverter on when a 12 volt DC signal is supplied. This is useful

in applications where it may be desirable to allow 120VAC inverter loads to

be automatically powered when the vehicle ignition switch is turned on.
The MM-ISA pigtail adapter is simple to install and is used only with MM,

MM-AE, or MMS Series inverters.

Installation

To properly install the MM-ISA (refer also to Figure 2):

1. The MM-ISA wire should be connected to a circuit downstream from the

vehicle ignition switch, so that 12VDC is available when the ignition switch

is on, and not available when the ignition switch is off. The circuit selected

should be protected by a fuse rated at 5 amps DC maximum.

CAUTION: If using 24 volts, place a 15k ohm resistor in-line

with the red wire on the MM-ISA to ensure this increased volt-

age does not damage the inverter.

2. The

MM-ISA pigtail must be plugged into the ACCESSORIES port on the

inverter. If using the BTS, then a 6-conductor phone splitter must be used to

connect both the MM-ISA and the BTS. See Figure 1 below.

Operation

1. The inverter automatically shuts off and the ON/OFF button on the inverter

(and remote control, if connected) is disabled when the ignition switch is

turned off (removes 12VDC from the MM-ISA pigtail wire).
2. The inverter automatically turns on and the ON/OFF buttons (on inverter

and the remote panel) are disabled when the ignition switch is turned on

(provides 12VDC to the MM-ISA pigtail wire).

Info: The charger will continue to function and is not affected

by the MM-ISA pigtail operation.
