PLEASE study these instructions carefully before beginning this installation. Most installations can be accomplished with common
tools and procedures. However, you should be familiar with and comfortable working on your vehicle. If you do not feel comfortable
performing this installation, it is recommended to have the installation completed by a qualified mechanic. If you have any questions,
please call our Technical Hotline at: 1-800-416-8628, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm, Pacific Standard Time, Monday through Friday or
e-mail us at [email protected].

IMPORTANT NOTE: Proper installation is the responsibility of the installer. Improper installation may result in poor

performance and engine or vehicle damage.

DESCRIPTION: The Victor series #8866/#8876 is a heavy duty water pump for both street and racing applications. The pump is a
direct replacement for the original equipment pump (Ford #F1TZ 8501-A) to provide compatibility with all accessories and pulleys. It
offers weight savings along with increased durability and cooling potential. It is a standard rotation water pump for Ford 429 and
460 engines and should not be used on engines converted to a serpentine belt pulley system.

INSTALLATION: Installation is the same as for orignal equipment water pumps. This pump includes a new backplate. If a
replacement backplate is needed, use Ford #CB5Z-8508A.

Consult service manual for specific procedures, if necessary.

CAUTION: Be sure that the fan bolts don’t protrude through the hub so far that they hit the water pump housing.

SPECIAL NOTES: Check closely for any interference with drive belts; some filing for clearance may be necessary with some
applications. The distance from the flange surface to the hub should measure 5.50”.
