Chapter 3:
Problem Solving

If you are having difficulties with a software application check that
application’s chapter and on-line help for troubleshooting information.
If you need further assistance, the table on page B-1 will help you find
the phone numbers for the appropriate customer support service.

Read this section if you run into trouble with your CD-Writer Plus drive.
If after reviewing the section you need further assistance, call the phone
numbers listed in “Appendix B: Customer Support”

Gather the information on page B-2 before calling for help. Having this
information ready will greatly facilitate your call.

Things to Try First

Does your computer meet the minimum system requirements
(see“Minimum System Requirements” on page A-1 )?

Make sure your computer and CD-Writer Plus drive are plugged in
and that each device attached to your computer is turned on.

Turn off the computer’s power, unplug the CD-Writer Plus drive, and
wait 20 seconds. Then plug in the CD-Writer Plus drive and turn on
your computer. (This is called cycling power.)

Disconnect all the cables and then reconnect them. Sometimes just
reconnecting a cable aligns it correctly or adjusts the pin connections,
fixing a faulty connection. (Check for bent pins on the connectors
and straighten them.)

Make sure that you are using the right type of CD. See “Choosing CDs
for Your CD-Writer” on page 2-2.

Try the operation with a different CD.
