Adding Oceanic
Waypoints

Oceanic waypoints are
entered in the same manner
as other waypoints with one
exception. Instead of enter-
ing a waypoint identifier, a
five-character coordinate
identifier, such as 3050N, is entered. The following rules are to be
applied:

1.

Positions in the Northern Hemisphere use letters “N” and “E”.
Positions in the Southern Hemisphere use the letters “S” and
“W”. Both will use numerics for latitude and longitude values as
follows:

a.

Latitude - Latitude will always precede longitude.
