Installing

memory

Your

computer

has

four

connectors

for

installing

dual

inline

memory

modules

(DIMMs)

that

provide

up

to

a

maximum

of

4.0

GB

of

system

memory.

When

installing

DDR2

type

memory

modules,

the

following

rules

apply:

v

Use

1.8

V,

240-pin

DDR2

synchronous

dynamic

random

access

memory

(SDRAM).

v

Use

256

MB,

512

MB

or

1.0

GB

memory

modules

in

any

combination.

To

install

a

memory

module:

1.

Remove

the

cover.

See

“Removing

the

cover”

on

page

10.

2.

Locate

the

memory

connectors.

See

“Identifying

parts

on

the

system

board”

on

page

12.

3.

Open

the

retaining

clips.

4.

Make

sure

that

the

notch

1

on

the

memory

module

aligns

correctly

with

the

connector

key 2

on

the

system

board.

Push

the

memory

module

straight

down

into

the

connector

until

the

retaining

clips

close.
