Integrated

cable

lock

With

an

integrated

cable

lock

(sometimes

referred

to

as

a

Kensington

lock),

you

can

secure

your

computer

to

a

desk,

table,

or

other

non-permanent

fixture.

This

lock

also

secures

the

computer

cover.

The

cable

lock

attaches

to

a

security

slot

at

the

rear

of

your

computer

and

is

operated

with

a

key.

This

is

the

same

type

of

lock

used

with

many

laptop

computers.

To

deter

unauthorized

use

Changing

the

battery

Your

computer

has

a

special

type

of

memory

that

maintains

the

date,

time,

and

settings

for

built-in

features,

such

as

parallel-port

assignments

(configuration).

A

battery

keeps

this

information

active

when

you

turn

off

the

computer.

The

battery

normally

requires

no

charging

or

maintenance

throughout

its

life;

however,

no

battery

lasts

forever.
