JUST mode setting
(when timer recording to a DVD disc)
0 The unit automatically sets the appropriate FR mode
depending on the disc remaining time.
0 Set AREC MODEB to AJUSTB at the recording setting
for timer programming.
Example
Automatically sets FR mode for recording a 30-minute
programme, on a disc with 20 minutes remaining time
in XP mode.
0 The maximum recording time for JUST mode is
equivalent to FR480 mode.
DV Mode
Ⅲ Main characteristics
0 High image quality recording mode above XP mode.
0 There is no image deterioration when dubbing from a
DV camcorder to the HDD using the DV terminal.
0 Timer recording in DV mode is possible with the
exception of input from the DV terminal.
0 For programmes recorded in DV mode,
• play lists can be created. (Not possible when there
is a mixture of programmes recorded in other
recording modes.)
• they can be divided by editing.
0 When playing back programmes recorded in DV
mode,
• the same playback operations as other modes are
possible. However, 1.5x speed with sound is not
possible.
• they can also be output from the DV terminal.
(Only when using AdvB channel.)
• temporary recording will be stopped.
0 When recording in DV mode,
• playback on the HDD or DVD is not possible.
• Library Database Navigation, editing, and dubbing
operations cannot be performed.
• there will be no output from the DV terminal.
0 During recording, the following operations are not
possible for programmes recorded in DV mode.
• Playback (AORIGINALB and APLAY LISTB)
• Editing of play list
• Thumbnail modification
• Chapter creation
• Deleting of scenes
• Dividing of scenes
0 When playing back copy-once programmes, there
will be no output from the DV terminal.
0 Post-recording is not possible, as with a DV tape
recorder.
0 See the following page if recording a bilingual
programme using DVD-RW/-R (Video mode).
