Controlling Your Roaming Experience

Understanding Roaming

Roaming on Other Digital Networks

When you are roaming, your phone will display the Roaming icon

. When

the roaming icon is displayed, you are outside of your home network and you
will be charged a higher per minute rate for calls.

Roaming on Analog Networks

When you roam on analog networks, you will experience a similar quality
provided by other analog carriers today. Although some features, such as
Mobile Web services and Voice Command, will be unavailable, you can still
make and receive calls and access voicemail. You will experience a few
differences:

You are more likely to experience static, cross-talk, fade-out, and

dropped calls.

Some features which are standard on the network, such as call

waiting, web services, and direct international dialing, are unavailable.

Though callers can leave voicemail messages while you are roaming,

you will not receive notification until you return to the network. While
roaming, you can periodically check your voicemail for new messages
by dialing 1+area code+your Phone Number.

There are security and privacy risks (eavesdropping and cloning) that

exist with conventional analog services today.

Your battery needs recharging sooner when you use your phone for

analog roaming.
