Installing the TWAIN driver
This chapter provides descriptions on connecting the machine to a computer
and installing the TWAIN driver.
2.1
Making connections and installing the driver
Connecting to a computer
This machine can be connected to a computer using any of the following
connection methods.
Connecting to a USB port
In the following procedure, the machine is connected directly to the compu-
ter by using a USB cable.
When the machine is connected to the USB port, installation of the TWAIN
driver begins. For the procedure on connecting this machine with USB, refer
to “Installing the TWAIN driver by using Plug and Play” on page 2-5.

Reminder
This machine cannot be connected to a computer running Windows 98
SE using a USB interface.
