Notes on Using the “Sort” and “Group” Settings

If a document positioned on the original glass is copied using the “Sort”
setting, copying is automatically performed using the “Separate Scan”
function.
For details, refer to

“Auxiliary Functions” on page 6-1.

If the finisher or the mail bin kit is installed, each set of copies is fed
out shifted to alternating sides.

If the job tray is installed, but the finisher or the mail bin kit is not, each
set of copies is fed out in an alternating crisscross pattern.

Conditions for crisscross sorting

Paper of the same type must be loaded horizontally in one paper
drawer and vertically in another drawer.

The “Mixed Orig Detection” function must not be selected.

None of the following can be selected: a stapling or the “Hole Punch”
setting and the “Page Insertion”, the “Cover Mode” and the “Image
Repeat” functions.

A paper drawer cannot be selected.

A4 or B5 sized paper is set horizontally or vertically.

If a finisher is installed, crisscross sorting can not be carried out.

Shift Sorting

Each copy set is fed out shifted to
alternating sides.

Crisscross Sorting

Each copy set is fed out in an
alternating crisscross pattern.
