Fill the kettle with water up to the maximum level and let it boil once (see chapter ‘Using the

appliance’).

Pour out the hot water and rinse the kettle once more.

Remove the lid (Fig. 3).

Turn the lid anticlockwise until the line on top of the kettle is aligned with the line on the lid that

indicates the ‘open’ position.

Fill the kettle with water (Fig. 4).

Note: You can also fill the kettle through the spout.

Put the lid back onto the kettle (Fig. 5).

Put the lid on the kettle and turn the lid clockwise until the line on top of the kettle is aligned with

the line on the lid that indicates the ‘close’ position.

Place the kettle on its base and put the plug in the wall socket.

, The appliance is now ready for use.

Boiling water

To boil water, you only have to do one thing:

Press the on/off button. (Fig. 6)

, The light ring around the on/off button lights up and the 100°C light starts to flash to

indicate that the kettle is heating up water to boiling point (Fig. 7).

, While the water heats up, the current temperature is shown by the number of lights that are

on. The 100°C light continues to flash (Fig. 8).

The kettle brings the water to the boil.

, When the water boils, you hear an audible signal and the kettle switches off automatically.

, The light ring around the on/off button goes out and the 100°C light stays on for 120

seconds to let you know the water has just boiled (Fig. 9).

Note: You can stop the heating process at any time by pressing the on/off button or removing the kettle

from the base. If you remove the kettle from the base when it is operating, all settings are lost.

setting the water temperature

With the SET TEMP button on the kettle, you can heat up the water to different temperatures for

different types of hot drinks: 100°C (boiling water)/90°C/80°C/40°C (or 100°C (boiling water)/

90°C/80°C/70°C for the beige-wood brown model).

Make sure the kettle is empty. Then fill it with cold water.

To make sure the kettle accurately heats up the water to the set temperature, fill the kettle with at

least 0.5l water.

Press the SET TEMP button one or more times to set the desired temperature (Fig. 10).

, The light of the selected temperature lights up.

- The symbols for hot drinks on the lid have the following meaning: (Fig. 11)

1 ’Green tea’ symbol: setting for heating up water to the required temperature for white, mate or

green tea (80°C).

2 ’Coffee beans’ symbol: setting for heating up water to the required temperature for instant

coffee or drip filter coffee (90°C).

3 ’Black tea/herbal tea/hot chocolate’ symbol: setting for heating up water to the required

temperature for black tea, herbal tea, redbush tea, hot chocolate, (instant) soup, pasta, rice and

noodles. Only at this setting, the water is boiled (100°C).
