V-CHIP Operation
Motion Picture Ratings
This TV model features the “V-Chip technology” which allows you to use Motion Picture Ratings
when viewing movies or video tapes. This innovation allows parents to block various types of
movies and video tapes at their discretion. PIP will be blocked automatically.
Note: Please read these instructions completely before using the V-Chip. The V-Chip allows parents to
block, at their discretion, various types of movies, videos, video games and television programs.

Procedure
1. In the Main Menu press the CH pq or VOL tu buttons to highlight LOCK icon.
2. Press ACTION button to display LOCK menu.
3. Use the numeric keypad to enter your four digit code. ( Use a code that is easy to
remember and record it in a safe place.)
Note: When in CHANGE CODE, if you enter a different code from the one used on the LOCK menu, the
new code becomes the controlling code.
4. Press CH q button to highlight MOTION PICT. STATUS.
5. Press VOL tu buttons to select OFF or ON.
6. Press CH

button to highlight CHANGE SETTINGS. (See Fig. 2)
7. Press VOL
tu
buttons to display Motion Picture Rating menu. (See Fig. 3)
8. Press VOL tu buttons to select VIEW NR PROGRAMS? YES or NO. (Sometimes
movies do not get rated for a variety of reasons. Old movies and foreign movies
usually have no ratings.)
9. Press CH pq buttons to move between different ratings. Use VOL tu buttons to
select the ratings you want to block.
Note: See the MOTION PICTURE RATINGS chart.
10. Press VOL tu buttons to block ( RED ) and unblock ( GREEN ).
11. Press ACTION button repeatedly to exit menus.
