The Alarm System

• Your XENA alarmed disc-lock is self-arming. It will activate within approximately

5 seconds of being locked onto your brake disc.

• No on-off switch is required. The unit automatically senses the presence of your

brake disc.

• Once in place, the unit will beep once to confirm that it is armed.
• After it is armed, the unit’s dual shock & motion sensors work independently to

determine if your bike is being tampered with.

• When triggered, the unit will emit two countdown beeps, and then the alarm

will sound for 10-15 seconds.

• If the attack continues, the alarm will re-sound. If the attack stops, the unit will

re-set itself.

Replacing the Batteries

• With Allen key provided, remove the retaining screw on the underside of the

lock and slide off the battery lid. (no battery lid for XZ1)

• Lift off the silicon gasket and then remove and replace the battery pack at the

front of the alarm module. Ensure that the battery pack is oriented correctly with
the upwards-pointing arrows; incorrect position can damage the battery contacts.

• Replace the alarm module and silicone gasket and secure the battery lid in place

with the retaining screw. The unit will emit one beep to confirm that the batteries
have been installed correctly.

• Use a XENA XBP-1 battery pack available from all authorized XENA dealers, or

alternatively fill the battery pack with 6x generic LR44 button-cell batteries.

Battery Life

• Under normal use, batteries should last 8 months. Frequent alarm triggering or

extreme temperature conditions can affect battery life.

• A constant ticking noise or a noticeable deterioration in alarm sound quality are

both indications that batteries are low.

• Low batteries will affect performance. Replace batteries at the first sign of low power.

Keys

• Each lock is supplied with three keys and a key tag with 7-digit serial number

beginning with the letter X (ie, X123456). Use this unique identification number
to order more keys for your lock; the key tag should not be kept with the keys but
stored in a safe place.

• If keys are lost we will require the keytag along with owner details (including

name, address and telephone number) and a receipt for the purchase of the lock.
Keys will only be sent to the owner’s address.

• For more information, email: [email protected]

Caring for Your Lock

• Keep your reflector plate clean. Use a dry cloth to keep the LED reflector plate

on the underside of the lock inside the disc-slot clean and free of dirt, dust, grease
and grime. An obstructed reflector plate can adversely affect performance.
