Run the MVS DEVSERV QPAV command, using the following syntax:
DS QPAV,device_unit_ID,VOLUME
Information about the base device and corresponding alias addresses are shown.
The following figure shows sample output of this command on a PAV device.
The following figure shows sample output of this command on a HPAV device.
NOTE:
The relationship between base and alias devices is not fixed for the operating system
using HPAV. Therefore, only the information about base devices is shown.

Verify that the information shown matches the base and alias device definitions specified on
the Remote Web Console client machine.
NOTE:
After performing dynamic PAV operations, mismatches occur because the host system
can change the number of aliases assigned to each base device. This type of mismatch does
note cause issues.
