Select print media
This device accepts a variety of media, such as cut-sheet paper, including up to 100% recycled fiber
content paper; envelopes; labels; transparencies; and custom-size paper. Properties such as weight,
composition, grain, and moisture content are important factors that affect device performance and output
quality. Paper that does not meet the guidelines that are outlined in this manual can cause the following
problems:
● Poor print quality
● Increased jams
● Premature wear on the device, requiring repair
CAUTION Using media that does not meet HP specifications can cause problems for the
device, requiring repair. This repair is not covered by the HP warranty or service agreements.
Automatic size-sensing
The device automatically senses the standard sizes of media loaded into trays 2 and 3 (and optional
trays 4, 5, and 6) shown in the following list.
● A4 (297 x 210 mm; 11.7 x 8.27 inch)
● Letter (279 x 216 mm; 11 x 8.5 inch)
● B4-JIS (257 x 364 mm; 10.1 x 14.33 inch)
● B5-JIS (257 x 182 mm; 10.1 x 7.2 inch)
● Legal (216 x 356 mm; 8.5 x 14 inch)
● Executive (267 x 184 mm; 10.5 x 7.25 inch)
● A5 (210 x 148 mm; 8.27 x 5.83 inch)
● Executive JIS (216 x 330 mm; 8.5 x 13 inch)
● A3 (297 x 420 mm; 11.69 x 16.54 inch)
● Ledger (279 x 432 mm; 11 x 17 inch)
NOTE A3- and ledger-size media are not supported in tray 2.
