Launching the RMD tool

Double-click the Recovery Manager Diagnostics Tool for RM for VMware vSphere shortcut icon
available on the desktop to launch the RMD tool.

Performing diagnostic checks

To perform the diagnostic checks:
1.

Select the servers to run the diagnostic checks.

The RMD tool automatically discovers and lists all the RMV and vCenter servers managed by
RMV. By default, all the vCenter servers are selected for diagnosis. However, you can also
select servers to run the diagnostic checks. The RMV server is selected by default for running
the diagnostic checks.

NOTE:

To select or clear all the listed servers, click Select All or Deselect All, respectively.

If more than eight servers are listed, then to expand or collapse all the listed servers, click
View more or Collapse, respectively.

2.

Click Enter Credentials to provide the logon credentials if any server requires a different logon
credential.

By default, the RMD tool uses the logon credentials provided during installation to log on to
the different servers.

NOTE:

If the logon credentials are incorrect, then during test execution, RMD tool displays

the error message Connection to remote machine failed.

3.

Select Collect Application Specific Logs to include log tests during diagnostics. If you select this
check box, then after the diagnosis is complete, the log files are available in the RMV Log
Files Information section of the Test Report. By default, the check box is cleared.
