Save to Draft — Lets you save your message to the Draft box for later editing and sending.
•
Cancel E-mail — Discards your email message without saving it to the Draft box.
7. When you are finished addressing your message, press the key to send your
message.
Receiving New Messages
When you receive a message in standby mode, an alert sounds (unless turned off), the
closed envelope icon (
) appears in the display, and a New Msg window pops-up in the
display showing the date and time of the message and the message contents.

You can close the message by pressing the key or the key.
•
You can press the Menu (left) soft key ( ) and Call the sender or Reply to, Forward, Delete,
Save Contact Number from, or Save the message to My folder. You can also review your
Message List.
Use the navigation keys to highlight the desired option and press the key.
Receive Messages While in a Call
When you receive a message while in a call, the closed envelope icon ( ) appears in the
display, and a New Msg window pops-up in the display showing the date and time of the
message and the message contents.

You can close the message by pressing the key or the key.

You can press the Menu (left) soft key ( ) and Call the sender or Reply to, Forward, Delete,
Save Contact Number from, or Save the message to My folder. You can also review your
Message List.

Messages and Lock Mode
Your device can still receive messages while in Lock Mode. The time and date of the
message appear in the display, but you cannot access the message until you enter the lock
code. (See ‘Phone Lock” on page 85 for more information.)
Message/Media Boxes
The a503 device stores copies of all of your messages and/or media from your messages,
except those that you cancel. Messages of each type and picture message media are
stored in the following boxes:

Inbox
•
Sent/Outbox/Outgoing
•
Drafts
•
Timed (text messages only)
